Man Utd star Amad ruled out of Brentford clash as Ruben Amorim provides update on trio

Amad will be absent from Manchester United's Premier League clash at Brentford tomorrow following a close family bereavement. The winger has been granted compassionate leave by United manager Ruben Amorim, who has offered Amad all the time he requires to cope with his loss.

The Ivory Coast international has remained in the UK while he grieves, and United uncertain how long the 23-year-old will need away before returning to the squad. "Licha [Lisandro Martinez] is out. Casemiro is out because of the red card. Amad is not here because someone in his family passed away. We are giving all the support to Amad and understood he needed to return home," he said.

Amad has featured in United's previous four Premier League fixtures and operated as a wing-back and in a more attacking position, as he did in last weekend's 2-1 victory over Chelsea at Old Trafford.

The unavoidable absence of Amad means Diogo Dalot, who missed United's previous two matches through injury, is expected to return to the starting XI at right wing-back.

The Portugal international resumed training on Thursday but Noussair Mazraoui has been sidelined.

"He [Mazraoui] is out also. He will not be back until the international break," Amorim revealed.

In attack, Matheus Cunha, making what will be his first appearance since sustaining a hamstring problem, is anticipated to line up alongside Bryan Mbeumo as one of the advanced forwards behind Benjamin Sesko.

Bryan Mbeumo, the Cameroon international, is set to return to his former club, with United boss Amorim singing his praises.

"It's really important for everything he has been doing," said the United boss. "The light he brings to the dressing room. He is not the guy who talks, but he is always there to help us. He runs a lot, presses a lot, he is a different threat to last season. I'm more than happy with Bryan."

As for other selection dilemmas facing Amorim, it appears Manuel Ugarte and Kobbie Mainoo are vying for a place alongside Bruno Fernandes, with Casemiro ruled out.
