Predicted Man Utd line-up to face Brentford, Ruben Amorim to unleash revamped attack

Manchester United are looking to record back-to-back wins in the Premier League for the first time this season by beating Brentford at the Gtech Community Stadium on Saturday afternoon.

It has been a slow start to the 2025/26 season for Manchester United, with seven points from their first five games.

Ruben Amorim will be keen for results to improve, but United fans shouldn’t underestimate the difficulty of fixtures thus far. The Red Devils have already played Arsenal, Man City and Chelsea, with Liverpool to play next month.

It’s pivotal that United get a run of wins together, and they can build on last week’s victory by beating Brentford.

The fixture marks the return of United’s new signing Bryan Mbeumo, who is set to play a key role against his former club.

How Manchester United could line-up against Brentford

After beating Chelsea 2-1 last week, it would be a huge blow if Amorim’s side failed to back it up with a win over Brentford.

United will be without Casemiro after the Brazilian veteran was sent off for two bookable offences last week. The 33-year-old will be available to face Sunderland next week.

So, with the need to win back-to-back games and a strong group available, here is our predicted side to take on Brentford.

Goalkeeper

Senne Lammens could make his debut for United against Brentford if he starts ahead of Altay Bayindir, who has started every Premier League game so far this season. The Belgian was signed to become United’s first-choice goalkeeper in the future, but it’s only a matter of time before fans see him in action.

Defence

The wing-back roles will be occupied by Diogo Dalot and Patrick Dorgu, with Amad Diallo and Noussair Mazraoui ruled out of the game.

Amorim brought Harry Maguire into his starting back three against Chelsea, and the England international is likely to keep his place alongside Matthijs de Ligt and Luke Shaw.

Midfield

Although most United fans are calling for Kobbie Mainoo to start alongside Bruno Fernandes in the middle of the pitch, Amorim is likely to select Manuel Ugarte to replace the suspended Casemiro. It would be a pleasant surprise if Mainoo got the nod, though.

Attack

Amorim will unleash his fully revamped attack for the first time against Brentford. That means United fans could see Bryan Mbeumo, Matheus Cunha and Benjamin Sesko all feature in the starting line-up for the first time.

The three new signings need to play more games together to work on their chemistry. They were all brought to the club to address the issues in front of goal, so Brentford are in for a mighty test this weekend.
