Predicted Manchester United lineup against Brentford: Dalot in for Mazraoui; Cunha also returns

Diogo Dalot and Matheus Cunha will return to the Manchester United starting lineup against Brentford at the Gtech Community Stadium on Saturday.

Manchester United will aim to continue from where they left off last weekend when they lock horns with Brentford at the Gtech Community Stadium on Saturday afternoon. Ruben Amorim has received a mixed bag of updates on the team news front ahead of his side’s latest fixture.

Amad Diallo is unavailable due to a family bereavement, and Amorim has given him the weekend off to attend to that. Additionally, Noussair Mazraoui is out until the international break due to an unspecified injury. The Moroccan international accompanies Lisandro Martinez (knee) in the treatment room. Meanwhile, Casemiro will serve a suspension after being sent off against Chelsea last week.

However, Diogo Dalot has resumed training after recovering from his injury. So, the away side should not have a right wing-back issue until the international break due to Mazraoui’s absence. Meanwhile, during a conversation with MUTV, Amorim provided a fitness update on Dalot and Mazraoui.

The Manchester United manager said, “Diogo is returning to the team. And he is ready. We have all the other players so we are in a good moment to go to Brentford. Nous is not going to be [available] until we stop for the international teams. He is out also.”

Meanwhile, during his pre-match press conference, Amorim discussed Amad’s absence. He said, “Amad is not here, someone in his family passed away so we are giving all the support to Amad. We understood it was important to him to have his time and to return home [here].”

The Manchester United boss continued, “That is real life for Amad: we are here for him. It’s a tough moment and in these kind of moments it is not important the next game. We can win without Amad and we will try to win for Amad.”

Senne Lammens will likely replace Altay Bayindir between the sticks after another nervy performance from the Turkish goalkeeper last weekend. The away side will line up in a 3-4-2-1 formation in front of the Belgian stopper, with the central defensive unit featuring Lenny Yoro, Matthijs de Ligt, and Luke Shaw.

Diogo Dalot and Patrick Dorgu will continue as the two wing-backs, with Manuel Ugarte replacing Casemiro as Bruno Fernandes’s partner in the middle of the park. Finally, Benjamin Sesko will lead the line for the visitors against Brentford, with Bryan Mbeumo and Matheus Cunha completing the numbers in the offensive third.

Predicted Manchester United XI: Lammens; Yoro, de Ligt, Shaw; Dalot, Ugarte, Bruno Fernandes, Dorgu; Mbeumo, Cunha; Sesko
