Bryan Mbeumo of Manchester United in action

Bryan Mbeumo joined United after a protracted transfer saga with Brentford

Manchester United take on Brentford on Saturday, with the Red Devils aiming for their second consecutive victory.

Ruben Amorim managed to alleviate some of the mounting pressure on him last weekend over at Old Trafford. The embattled manager has been grappling with increasing criticism, having only secured one league win so far.

However, goals from Bruno Fernandes and Casemiro were enough to see off Enzo Maresca's side in a match that saw both teams reduced to ten men and Chelsea goalkeeper Robert Sanchez.

Brentford have found themselves in a similar predicament to United this season. The Bees have only clinched one league game under new boss Keith Andrews and currently sit in 17th place, just one point above the relegation zone, after suffering a 3-1 defeat to Fulham last weekend.

The encounter at the Gtech Stadium will be further intensified by Bryan Mbeumo after signing for United this summer.

The 26-year-old striker was at the heart of a transfer saga that persisted throughout much of the summer until he finally sealed his move to Old Trafford in July. Brentford also triumphed over United 4-3 in the same fixture last season.

Team news

Amorim will be without Casemiro following his red card in last weekend's clash against Chelsea. Diogo Dalot may make a comeback, but the Brentford clash is anticipated to be too soon for Lisandro Martinez.

With Casemiro out, Kobbie Mainoo might find himself starting in midfield. Altay Bayindir is still predicted to keep new goalkeeper Senne Lammens benched as he awaits his debut.

Brentford manager Keith Andrews has minor injury worries, with striker Gustavo Nunes sidelined due to a thigh issue.
