Manchester United striker Marcus Rashford joined Barcelona on a season-long loan deal during the summer transfer window.
Marcus Rashford has done well for Barcelona so far in the 2025/26 season, and he recently produced a stunning performance against Newcastle United in the UEFA Champions League. The English international scored twice for his team, but a report from Give Me Sport has claimed that he has no future at Old Trafford despite his revival.
Ben Jacobs claimed, “I don’t think Manchester United looked at that meeting and took anything from it. He was a couple of minutes late but, by the same token, Rashford has made a very positive start at Barcelona on the training field and, of course, in games, most notably by scoring two excellent goals against Newcastle United.
“Manchester United have never doubted the talents of Marcus Rashford. It’s just about him being the right fit on and off the field. It’s clear that Rashford doesn’t have a future at Manchester United. But the off-field behaviour, good or bad, is not really being discussed or digested by the leadership team at Manchester United.”
Rashford is unlikely to want to return to Manchester United either. It will be interesting to see where he ends up. There have been rumours that Barcelona could look to sign the player permanently next year. It remains to be seen whether the two parties can agree on a deal.
Rashford is a quality player, and he has shown that in the Premier League in the past. He will look to get his career back on track with regular football, and the move to Barcelona has proven to be ideal for him. He will look to establish himself as a key player for them.
The England international deserves to ply his trade for the biggest clubs in the world, and joining Barcelona permanently will be an attractive option for him. The Blaugrana are among the biggest clubs in the world, and they have recently won the league title as well. Barcelona will be hoping to win major trophies consistently, and Rashford will want to be a part of that project.
Meanwhile, the Catalan outfit needed more depth in the attacking unit, and the Manchester United misfit should prove to be a very useful acquisition for them. The Englishman is capable of operating in multiple attacking roles, and he will contribute with goals and creativity. He has all the tools to develop into a key player for Barcelona.
It will be interesting to see if Barcelona can agree on a reasonable deal to sign him permanently. The reigning La Liga champions are going through financial difficulties, and they will not be able to pay a premium for him. Rashford will also hope that the two clubs can work out an agreement so that he can sort out his long-term future and focus on his football.
