Matheus Cunha breaks silence on Man Utd defeat - 'Not a good way to answer'

Matheus Cunha confessed it was tough to discuss Manchester United's crushing defeat to Brentford post-match. Ruben Amorim had been handed a golden chance to secure consecutive Premier League victories for the first time against Brentford after triumphing over Chelsea the previous weekend.

The Bees flew out of the blocks and established a commanding two-goal advantage inside the opening 20 minutes. Igor Thiago bagged a double, though Benjamin Sesko found the net for his maiden strike since joining United before the break to reduce the arrears. Bryan Mbeumo earned a spot-kick with a quarter of an hour left on the clock and Bruno Fernandes took responsibility, only to see his attempt saved by Brentford keeper Caoimhin Kelleher. The hosts sealed their triumph through Mathias Jensen's stoppage-time strike.

Speaking to MUTV, Cunha revealed: "Right now, to say something is really, really hard. We know how important it is to wear this shirt and win every game.

"It's very frustrating to come here and not win because we know every game in the Premier League is important for us this season. We need to do more, that's the key, I think. Right now is probably not a good way to answer some questions."

Cunha added: "We need to go to the training pitch and do everything we can, and improve, improve, improve. This is the word and I think we need to use it. We need to be focused and have big character right now. We know how important this shirt is. And we need to win games.

"The key element is to improve. Let's go, let's leave this game out. This game is part of the past and we need to look forward. Of course, then we need to do everything better to keep going."
