Manchester United beat Liverpool 2-0 in a comfortable victory that lifted them top of the Women's Super League before champions Chelsea face bottom of the table West Ham.
United struck early at St Helens Stadium when Hinata Miyazawa fired a stunning strike from outside the box into the top corner.
Liverpool's poor defending allowed United to score another on the stroke of half-time. Elisabeth Terland won the ball outside of Liverpool's box and played an instinctive pass inside for Ella Toone, who calmly rolled the ball into the corner past Rafaela Borggrafe.
After a dominant first half, the league leaders managed to withstand moments of pressure from Liverpool, the only team to have scored just a single goal in the WSL so far this season.
Cornelia Kapocs, their lone goalscorer, came close but Phallon Tullis-Joyce was on fine form to keep a clean sheet.
**City dominate London City with Shaw penalty double**
------------------------------------------------------
Two penalty strikes from Khadija "Bunny" Shaw saw Manchester City cruise to a 4-1 win over London City Lionesses at the Joie Stadium.
An important three points keeps City in second, one point behind rivals United ahead of Chelsea's clash with West Ham.
City put two goals past the London City Lionesses in four minutes in the first half. Vivianne Miedema was left unmarked in the box and easily nodded home from close range to give City the lead.
Laura Blindkilde Brown doubled the lead only a few minutes later when her shot travelled through a sea of legs and beat the goalkeeper to nestle in the bottom left corner.
London City pulled a goal back when Nikita Parris finished off an incisive attacking move with a superb finish.
City managed to repel the visitors' comeback and began the second half with plenty of possession, despite being unable to add to their lead.
That was until the 69th minute, however, when Saki Kumagai gave away a penalty for handball and Shaw dutifully rolled the ball into the corner.
Shaw then was on hand to win a second penalty for City in the 88th minute. Elene Lete guessed the right way this time, but Shaw hit it with too much power for the Spaniard and sealed a dominant win for City.
**Spurs draw level with Chelsea and City**
------------------------------------------
Two first-half goals were enough to secure victory for Spurs at Leicester and move level on nine points with Chelsea and City.
Tottenham took an early lead at the King Power when Cathinka Tandberg's shot was deflected and beat Janina Leitzig in the 15th minute.
The visitors added to their lead just six minutes later as Olivia Holdt scored with a wonderful chip after a ball over the top carved Leicester's backline apart.
But the hosts began to mount a comeback towards the end of the first half and a defensive miscue from Spurs allowed Sam Tierney to pull a goal back. She lifted her finish cleverly over Lize Kop, who rushed out too early.
The second half was goalless, though, and Spurs held on for three points.
**Brighton earn second win of the season**
------------------------------------------
One goal was enough for Brighton to pick up a 1-0 win over Everton, earning themselves their second win of the season.
Arsenal loanees Michelle Agyemang and Rosa Kafaji combined as the England international scored her first goal of the season midway through the first half.
It was not an attractive goal, with Agyemang slightly scuffing a close-range volley that was deflected in, but it was a reward for the previous 25 minutes of Brighton dominance.
The Seagulls managed to keep Everton scoreless and made it back-to-back victories.
