Ruben Amorim looks to be running out of time at Manchester United after a poor start to the season.
The Red Devils slumped to a 3-1 defeat at Brentford last weekend and are 14th in the Premier League table, forcing the club’s hierarchy to consider options should they make a change in the dugout.
As reported by TBR Football, sources at Old Trafford continue to insist United are fully behind Amorim.

However, that has not stopped them drawing up a shortlist of potential replacements, and Sir Jim Ratcliffe has contacted former England boss Gareth Southgate, who he is known to admire.
There are believed to be four names in contention to replace Amorim, one of which is Oliver Glasner.

Oliver Glasner wants Crystal Palace to match his ambitions
Glasner’s work at Crystal Palace has rightly been lauded, after he led them to FA Cup glory last season and won the Community Shield in this year’s curtain-raiser.
Palace’s last-gasp 2-1 victory against Liverpool, secured courtesy of Eddie Nketiah’s 97th-minute strike, extended the club’s unbeaten streak to 18 games.
It is no surprise, then, that United admire Glasner, although he is open to staying at Selhurst Park.
Speaking on the Beyond The Back Four podcast, TBR Football chief correspondent Graeme Bailey said: “I think it’s going to be very hard for them. I’m being told that Oliver Glasner is open to staying, but he wants Palace to match his ambitions. Can they do that?
“I think it’s going to be very difficult. It really is. But they’re doing a remarkable job.”
We recently reported that Bournemouth head coach Andoni Iraola is also a potential target for United, while they have always appreciated the work of Kieran McKenna.
Oliver Glasner is the perfect fit for Man United
United simply must swoop for Glasner, whose contract is set to run down at the end of the season.
He is tactically versatile, even declaring that 4-4-2 is his favourite formation, and he would use the strengths of United’s squad to find a formula to win.

This is the complete opposite approach to Amorim, and supporters are sure to take warmly to that, especially after enduring such misery over the past couple of campaigns.
Glasner appears ready to take the next step in his career and, at least on paper, Old Trafford looks to be the ideal destination. It is now down to the United hierarchy to make the smart decision.
