All the headlines surrounding Manchester United are focused on one man, as Ruben Amorim has been abysmal as the Red Devils manager, sinking the club to a lower nadir than even Erik ten Hag was capable of doing.
Amorim’s days at Old Trafford are numbered, and Manchester United may only be stringing him along until the November date when it will be exactly one year, which means firing the Portuguese manager won’t cost them 12 million pounds.
Already, Man United are actively looking at replacements. Some notable names like Xavi and former England national team boss Gareth Southgate have been mentioned, and now there’s another to add to the list.
An FA Cup and Europa League winner
According to a report from Ben Jacobs for Give Me Sport, Crystal Palace manager Oliver Glasner would join Manchester United in a “heartbeat” if the Red Devils were to offer him the job.
Glasner is doing great things at Crystal Palace, having won the FA Cup last season, and he just literally handed Premier League champions Liverpool their first loss of the 2025/26 season.
Before the Premier League, Glasner was a great coach in the Bundesliga for Wolfsburg and Eintracht Frankfurt, winning the Europa League for the Eagles and even earning some interest from Real Madrid.
So Glasner may actually be the best coach available, especially if Manchester United want to go for a coach who is proven in the Premier League as a departure from their last hires: none of Ole Gunnar Solskjaer, Erik ten Hag, or Ruben Amorim were successful Premier League coaches before taking the Man United gig.
