Everton are hoping to see Martin Sherif develop on loan at Rotherham United after recovering from an injury setback.
Everton have sent a number of players out on loan this season in an attempt to aid their development away from Hill Dickinson Stadium.
Harrison Armstrong finally made his first start for Preston North End on Tuesday night, featuring in a 2-2 draw at Hull City.
Armstrong left Everton for PNE on deadline day but has been made to wait for his first start, while striker Martin Sherif could finally kickstart his Rotherham United career.

Everton loanee Martin Sherif set for Rotherham United return
Everton sent Sherif to Rotherham in August, and the 19-year-old made an instant impact for the Millers.
Sherif scored on his debut against Wigan Athletic, but was taken off injured after just 45 minutes against Doncaster Rovers in his second game.
The giant forward has been on the sidelines ever since and has missed more than a month of League One action.
Sherif is now set to return as Rotherham host Yorkshire rivals Bradford City on Thursday night.

Speaking to the Rotherham Advertiser, Millers boss Matt Hamshaw admitted that Sherif could feature from the bench against the Bantams.
Hamshaw believes that Sherif is a ‘game-changing’ striker to call on, praising his pace and enthusiasm.
“Martin’s a real game-changing option for us, even if he’s only on the bench,” said Hamshaw.
“He’s enthusiastic, he’s got pace, he’s everything we want in a striker. I think we saw in the first couple of games what he’s capable of doing,” he added.
Martin Sherif can catch David Moyes’ eye at Rotherham United
Sherif impressed in Everton’s Under-21s last season and has long been highly regarded in the Toffees ranks.
An EFL loan move was the next logical step in his development, and his immediate impact for Rotherham suggests the goals will flow this season.
The jump from League One to the Premier League is an enormous one, but Sherif must take this chance to shine – especially as Everton’s strikers are struggling.
Beto didn’t shine against West Ham United, and summer signing Thierno Barry doesn’t look ready for Premier League action.
It’s a long shot for Sherif to catch Moyes’ eye and catapult himself into Premier League contention in 2026, but this is an opportunity to shine – and he must seize it with his injury problems over.
