Harrison Armstrong has is no doubt one of Everton’s best talents.

The young midfielder has impressed at the Toffees despite being just 18 years old.

In the summer, Armstrong put in numerous strong performances at Everton in pre-season.

This continued in the Carabao Cup, with the youngster picking up two assists in the victory over Mansfield.

As a result, Everton opted to send Armstrong out on loan to Preston on deadline day, with the midfielder making his full debut for the Lancashire side on Tuesday.

Armstrong has no doubt had a difficult start to life at Preston.

Before Tuesday, the midfielder had not started for the Lilywhites and was often used as an impact substitute from the bench.

Nevertheless, the youngster remained patient and got his reward on Tuesday when he was handed a start against Hull City.

The match ended 2-2 despite Preston going 2-0 up after 10 minutes at The MKM Stadium.

Armstrong has come through Everton’s academy

Here, Armstrong impressed, but was forced off the pitch just after the 80th-minute mark with an injury.

However, Preston manager Paul Heckingbottom has confirmed to the Lancashire Post on 30 September that this was just cramp, and he praised the midfielder’s performance.

“Yeah, he’s a real good character, a real good player,” said the Preston manager. “He’ll be good for us. Like I said, just cramp. I’ll look at his physical data, he’ll be right up there, be through the roof and he’ll get up to speed and get in his 90s the more games he gets.”

How good was Armstrong vs Preston?

According to Sofascore on 1 October, Armstrong had a solid game against Hull.

The midfielder only misplaced two passes in the entire match, while also being successful defensively.

If Armstrong keeps up these types of displays, he will no doubt remain in Preston’s starting XI.

David Moyes will be keen to keep track of the youngster’s progress, with the midfielder likely to become a key player at Everton in the coming seasons.
