Aston Villa will remain without midfield duo Youri Tielemans and Amadou Onana for their Europa League clash against Feyenoord, while Tyrone Mings and Jadon Sancho are also unavailable.
Tielemans has been sidelined for the past two and a half weeks with a calf injury, while Onana hasn’t featured since the defeat at Brentford in August.
Sancho trained at Bodymoor Heath this morning but has not travelled, as he has not fully recovered from the illness that ruled him out against Fulham.
Mings, meanwhile, is expected to return to action after the October international break, following an ankle injury sustained last weekend. Emery also confirmed his absence for the Feyenoord match in his pre-match press conference.
Andres Garcia returned to the matchday squad against Bologna last week but did not make the bench for Sunday’s game against Fulham and has not travelled to the Netherlands either.
Sancho is still being sick. He trained this morning, but he is not in the group for the match. Onana, Tielemans, Andres and Barkley are not here. Tyrone is also out.
"We still have some young players and have enough players to get a good performance and confidence to try to play, competing against Feyenoord."
Barkley was not included in Villa’s European squad and has been dealing with a personal issue.
Feyenoord will be without influential midfielder Quinten Timber, who sustained a foot injury he sustained last weekend.
