Marcus Rashford continued his impressive run for Barcelona in their Champions League clash against Paris Saint-Germain.

The Manchester United loanee made his sixth start for the Spanish side, building on a strong run of recent performances. In his last five games, he has registered five assists, including the latest against PSG.

Following an interception high up the pitch from Lamine Yamal and a quick counter, Rashford delivered a precise pass across the box, allowing Fermin Lopez to slot the ball into the bottom left corner. It was his fifth assist in nine games for the Spanish giants, having also scored twice along the way.

Barcelona were seeking their second win in the competition following the 2-1 victory at Newcastle United in the opening round of fixtures. The 27-year-old scored both goals on his return to English soil.

Manager Hansi Flick has been pleased with the winger's adaptation, recently telling Marca: "Everyone could see it in the last games. In Newcastle [scoring two goals] he gained a lot of confidence. It's not always easy, he came from another league. He is adapting well."

Rashford joined Barcelona on a season-long loan in July after Reds boss Ruben Amorim made it clear he was not part of his plans. The Catalan club have the option to make the move permanent in 2026 for a fee of £30million.

However, Barca sporting director Deco has hinted that a decision over his future is yet to be made. "It's too early to talk about decisions for next season, but what matters is that we're happy with him," he said this week.

"What we thought he could bring to us, he's bringing. He's a very high-level player; he exploded very early, then he had great seasons at United, then he had years of more complicated management with changes of coaches, and perhaps he struggled too because they demanded a lot of things from him there."

The England international still has three years remaining on his contract at Old Trafford, which he signed in July 2023, following a career-best 30-goal season in the 2022/23 campaign for the Reds.
