Goncalo Ramos scored a 90th-minute winner as Paris Saint-Germain recorded a 2-1 victory over Barcelona in Wednesday night's Champions League clash at Estadi Olimpic Lluis Companys.
Ferran Torres sent Barcelona ahead in the 19th minute of the contest, but PSG were level before the half-time interval, with Senny Mayulu on the scoresheet.
It did appear that the points would be shared in the league phase fixture, but the European champions had other plans, with Ramos netting a spectacular winner in the final exchanges.
The result has left PSG in third spot in the overall table, boasting six points from two matches, while Barcelona are down in 16th spot, with the Catalan outfit on three points from two matches.
SPORTS MOLE'S VERDICT
Paris Saint-Germain players celebrate a goal against Barcelona on October 1, 2025
Wow, what a finish.
This was a PSG side without Ousmane Dembele, without Desire Doue, without Khvicha Kvaratskhelia, without Marquinhos, without Joao Neves, but they found a way to record a sensational win away to Barcelona.
Many have doubted whether PSG can make it back-to-back European Cups, but they showed their class again on Wednesday night, beating one of their main rivals for the trophy in dramatic circumstances.
Luis Enrique's side were pushing for a winner while Barcelona were almost holding on, and the manner of the home team's defending was staggering, especially in the latter stages of the contest.
In truth, this is not a season-defending result, as Barcelona will still have more than enough to advance to the next stage, while the same would also have been said for PSG if the French giants had lost this match.
PSG are a machine, though, and with the best two full-backs in world football and arguably the best midfield trio on the planet, they have to be considered as the favourites for the trophy once again.

PSG level the scores in the 38th minute of the contest, and it's a super finish from Mayulu, who makes no mistake after being found by Nuno Mendes in a dangerous area.

Oh my word, PSG surely win it in the final stages, as Ramos finds the back of the net with an excellent finish after being released by the excellent Achraf Hakimi. Not sure about the defending from Barcelona there!
MAN OF THE MATCH - NUNO MENDES
Lamine Yamal of Barcelona and Nuno Mendes of Paris Saint-Germain on October 1, 2025
Mendes was sensational on Wednesday night up against the mesmeric Lamine Yamal.
The 23-year-old set up Mayulu for his side's first goal, while he made three tackles and finished with a pass success rate of 93%, and his work at both ends of the field earns him the man-of-the-match award in this contest, but it was incredibly close with teammate Hakimi also excellent.
