Seahawks vs. Buccaneers kickoff time unchanged despite Mariners Alds game

We’re in truly unforeseen territory when it comes to the Seattle Seahawks and Mariners.

The Seahawks have been at what we now know as Lumen Field since 2002, while the Mariners left the Kingdome in the middle of the 1999 season. For over 20 seasons, the Mariners have never played a playoff game on the same day as a Seahawks game.

Major League Baseball released a portion of the American League Divisional Series schedule, which has the AL West champion Mariners hosting the winner of the Detroit Tigers vs. Cleveland Guardians on Saturday and Sunday for Games 1-2. The first pitch for Game 2 is set for a little after 5 pm PT, which means that the Seahawks’ home game against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers will remain at 1:05 pm PT. There was talk about the Seahawks-Bucs getting pushed back or even starting earlier to accommodate the Mariners, but that won’t be the case for this weekend.

It’ll be a logistical nightmare to navigate SoDo this Sunday. Depending on how the Seahawks and Mariners perform, it might be worth it for just this one day.
