Veteran Seattle Seahawks defensive end DeMarcus Lawrence is still dealing with a thigh injury that knocked him out of the team’s win last Thursday over the Arizona Cardinals.
Seahawks sign former UW star RB Myles Gaskin to practice squad
Seahawks coach Mike Macdonald said before practice Wednesday that the Seahawks will take things “day by day” with the 33-year-old Boise State product. The good news is that Macdonald said Lawrence is not a consideration for a stint on injured reserve, which would require missing at least four games. Lawrence’s availability for Sunday’s game against Tampa Bay is yet to be determined, though.
In his first season with Seattle, the 6-foot-3, 254-pound Lawrence has 12 combined tackles and two tackles for loss.
A second-round pick in the 2014 NFL Draft by Dallas, Lawrence made four Pro Bowls during his 11 seasons with Dallas.

Macdonald also addressed a pair of injured Seahawks players – second-year offensive guard Christian Haynes and defensive tackle Johnathan Hankins – who are eligible to return now that Seattle has played four games, with the update being that neither are returning to practice as of yet.
Haynes is on the injured reserve list with a pectoral injury, while Hankins in on the non-football injury list with back issues.
The Seahawks are 3-1 and tied for first place in the NFC West with both the San Francisco 49ers and Los Angels Rams. They will host the Tampa Bay Buccaneers at 1:05 p.m. Sunday in Week 5 action.
