Denmark manager Brian Riemer is happy with Rasmus Hojlund’s decision to leave Manchester United for Napoli on loan.
The writing was on the wall for Rasmus Hojlund at Manchester United this summer.
Ruben Amorim went on a hunt for a new striker before United reached an agreement with RB Leipzig for Benjamin Sesko.
Hojlund was overlooked in the first few games of the season, so game time was only going to become more limited following the arrival of a new striker.
Despite the change in personnel, United are still struggling to score enough goals to win football matches.
Sesko scored his first goal for United in the 3-1 defeat against Brentford on Saturday, while Hojlund has one goal and one assist to his name since joining Napoli.

Brian Riemer happy with Rasmus Hojlund’s move to Napoli
It is no secret that Hojlund wanted to stay at United for the current season, despite the arrival of Sesko.
The Denmark international failed to match expectations at Old Trafford, and the criticism increased over time.

Hojlund is now trying to restore his confidence in a league he is familiar with following his stint at Atalanta.
After registering two goal contributions in his first six matches for Napoli, Denmark manager Brian Riemer revealed he is happy with the move because he feels the young striker is appreciated more in Naples.
Speaking to Tipsbladet, Hojlund said: “I’m so happy that he has found a club where he now starts every time. He has been through a difficult period, there’s no doubt about that.
“Now he is in a place where he is appreciated and is settling in. That he also scored on his debut, that’s just great.”
It would be a huge boost for Denmark if Hojlund did regain his confidence this season, especially if they secure a place in the World Cup next year.
Man Utd still lacking strikers
Despite the arrival of Sesko, United are still light in the striker department.
The only striker available on the bench at the weekend was Joshua Zirkzee, yet he’s not a typical goalscorer.
This has led to United being linked with Juventus striker Dusan Vlahovic, who will be out of contract next summer unless he agrees to new terms with the Old Lady.
Amorim’s only other striker option is Chido Obi, who has started the season impressing with the under-21 side.
It wouldn’t come as a surprise if United signed another striker in 2026.
