Man United Told To Phone "Greatest Captain" To Come In And Fix Ruben Amorim's Mess

Former Premier League midfielder Jamie O’Hara told Man United they should get Roy Keane into the coaching staff at Old Trafford.

Ruben Amorim finds himself under immense pressure at United after he saw his side lose 3-1 to Brentford over the weekend. Several names have been linked to taking over as manager, including Gareth Southgate, Xavi and Oliver Glasner; however, the Red Devils are yet to decide on Amorim.

It feels as though a couple more defeats could be the nail in the coffin for the Man United boss, with games against Sunderland, Liverpool and Brighton coming up, who are all above United in the Premier League table.

The board at United will likely have a preference of who they want to get into the building should they sack Amorim, but former PL midfielder Jamie O’Hara has made a different suggestion; Former United captain Roy Keane.

O’Hara said on Sky Sports: “I’m amazed that nobody has phoned Roy Keane ‘can you come in at Manchester United and be a part of what we’re doing here’. Because, he is arguably Man United’s greatest captain, he’s a leader, he’s unbelievable, he’s ferocious, you listen to him. He’s going to lead by example, he’s not going to allow poor standards.

“How Roy Keane isn’t in that football club, in that dressing room, in there every day, telling them this is the standard, this is Man United, this is what we’ve built, this is how we do it, I cannot believe they’ve not done something like that.”

“You’re getting all these weak managers, all the weak mentality people in there, I cannot believe how bad the standards have got, and people are just accepting it. They should be getting in Roy Keane, he needs to be in that dressing room.”

Who is the favourite to take over at Man United?

Amid the current uncertainty of manager Amorim, many suggestions have been made on who could take over from the Portuguese boss if the higher-ups at United are to make a decision on his future.

According to Oddschecker, the current favourite to take over from Amorim is Crystal Palace boss Oliver Glasner, who’s side is currently on an 18-game unbeaten run, and are third in the Premier League table.

Glasner is the favourite at odds of 5/1, he’s ahead of former England boss Gareth Southgate at 11/2, and Xavi at 8/1.

Even though O’Hara has said that Roy Keane should take over, it is a long shot according to the bookmakers, as Keane is at odds of 80/1.
