“Barcelona make players better” – Marcus Rashford on his aims after Manchester United exit

Marcus Rashford, who on loan from Manchester United to Barcelona, notched up another assist for the Blaugrana on Wednesday.

He created Ferran Torres’ opening goal against Paris Saint-Germain, and probably should have had another assist but the recipient couldn’t finish.

After the game, Rashford spoke to TV2 about his ambitions at Barcelona and his time so far with the Catalans. It was the move he wanted in the summer and his agents pushed hard to secure it.

Rashford said: “Barcelona is a good club. They play at the highest level and make players better. I think that will happen to me too.”

The Manchester United explained his head is fully focused on winning games and picking up trophies this season: “It’s good. I keep getting into it (life in Barcelona), but ultimately I’m here to win football games. Today I don’t feel good (due to the loss). But the overall experience here has been good so far.”

The 27-year-old has now contributed to seven goals in nine appearances this season.

He’s putting up impressive numbers, and has now assisted in each of his last four La Liga games. Beyond the numbers, Rashford is providing a threat generally for Barcelona and the difference could be seen when he came off yesterday.

Hansi Flick’s side are at the top of the table in Spain. They are also one of the candidates to win the Champions League. Battling at level wouldn’t have been possible at Manchester United this season.
