Nick Sirianni puts aside latest Eagles drama to enjoy one thing they are best at

Philadelphia Eagles head coach Nick Sirianni addressed the media on Wednesday morning to share his thoughts on finding joy in the pursuit of winning. Sirianni shared his perspective on his mindset following the first four victories of the season.

"You got to give yourself points for wins," Sirianni said viaThe Athletic's Zach Berman. "We're going to feel terrible about ourselves when we lose. If you’re going to take away points when you lose, you got to give yourself points for wins, and you got to enjoy it because I mean, you're doing all these things because you love it, you're doing all these things so you can go out there and be at your best. You're doing all these things that we do throughout a week to continue to get better, and you have to be able to celebrate that when you win. I think we got a lot better feel of that than we have had in the past. Because one thing that I've said a lot is [last] Sunday we got to celebrate this win in the locker room, on the plane ride, whatever it is, you have to celebrate this win. But make no mistake about it, you want to continue to get better, and there's opportunities after each game to get better."

Despite the drama and struggles, the Eagles are still stacking up wins

In a long season, Sirianni makes it clear that many will often over-criticize during the wins and not enjoy the accomplishments. While what Sirianni may rub fans (especially those critical of him and his staff) the wrong way, if you can't find joy in the "process," then the final destination may not matter.

Sirianni and his team have already faced numerous issues that could erode the team's morale. From the A.J. Brown drama of his cryptic post after the Tampa Bay Buccaneers game to the offensive struggles over the first four games. That hasn't stopped this Eagles team from focusing on what's most important: winning games.

With the Eagles slowly morphing into a "dynasty" and the expectation being perfection, fans, players, and coaches can often become extremely overcritical during the course of a season, especially if the result falls short of a Super Bowl victory. Sirianni's approach may be an attempt to keep the team relaxed and reduce stress, given that the team ultimately has one metric for a "successful" 2025 campaign.
