Everton are believed to be back in the picture for Sevilla defender Juanlu, after being linked in the summer transfer window.
[Vamos Mi Sevilla](https://www.vamosmisevillafc.com/nuevo-pretendiente-fuerte-de-juanlu-para-enero/) throw Everton back into the picture today. They report that the possible sale of Juanlu was one of ‘soap operas’ of the summer.
He was heavily linked with a move to Napoli but Sevilla’s demands of €20m stopped Antonio Conte’s side from moving.
He may now be regretting not moving as he’s found himself playing as a substitute for José Ángel Carmona.
Sevilla would now prefer to sell Juanlu in January. They’re sticking to the €20m asking price and looking to the Premier League for a suitor.
Everton are believed to ‘have him in the spotlight’ once again ahead of January. They need a right-back and have had Juanlu on their radar for some time. Indeed, they were eyeing up a free transfer last summer before he signed a new deal at the Spanish club.
Now they could be back in the picture. And Juanlu has hinted he’d be open to an exit too, if that’s what Sevilla needed.
“It’s not that I saw myself leaving, but I was prepared in case anything happened, and I had to help Sevilla, because I was going to be ready,” he said last month after links to Wolves.
“But just as I was prepared in case, I had to give my all here with the No.16, and that’s what happened. They’ve given me this wonderful opportunity to defend the ’16’, which is the most important thing for me.”
