Expert thinks Jack Grealish will be crucial to Everton wonderkid with 'all the ability in the world'

Jack Grealish has been touted as the perfect mentor to one of Everton’s brightest midfield prospects.

The 29-year-old’s off-the-pitch antics have become a topic of discussion as the midfielder has recently opened up on his spells at previous clubs.

Grealish arrived at the Hill Dickinson Stadium in a season-long loan move this summer from Manchester City after being deemed surplus to requirements by Pep Guardiola.

He has, however, rediscovered his best form on Merseyside – Grealish won his first Premier League POTM award for August following a return of four assists from his first two starts.

Now, the player, who has long been known for his widely reported behaviour outside of matchdays, could be the perfect mentor for one of his Blues teammates.

Jack Grealish will be crucial to Tyler Dibling’s development

TBR Football chief correspondent Graeme Bailey revealed that Everton believe summer signing Tyler Dibling can become a superstar at the club.

“Yeah, they’re happy to get him. There’s no rush with Dibling. He’s got all the ability in the world, and they’re pleased with the support around him- players like Grealish. They know Dibling is going to learn a huge amount, from playing that position to adapting to life at a club like Everton.

“It’s really clever that they’ve invested in him. There’s a real superstar in the making, and with high-quality players around him, he’s in the best environment to develop. Some people might think they’ve overpaid, but Everton don’t. In two years’ time, they won’t look back and feel they overpaid for him.”

Dibling was in high demand throughout the summer transfer window, with Tottenham Hotspur reportedly eyeing a move, but the Englishman gave his preference to Everton before completing the £42 million switch from Southampton.

The 19-year-old has racked up only 13 minutes of Premier League football thus far, but did start the Carabao Cup loss against Wolves as David Moyes continues to monitor his development.

Ex-Liverpool man Adam Lallana mentored Dibling during his spell at St Mary’s, and now the youngster will be leaning on the wisdom of the experienced members of the Blues squad to help ease his transition into the first team.

He featured 33 times in the league as Southampton finished bottom of the league table last season, but with Iliman Ndiaye and Grealish operating on the flanks and Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall playing as the number 10, the Blues can afford to be patient with Dibling.

Although Dibling has already been dubbed a “real talent”, he has a long way to go before he can be considered a regular starter at the Hill Dickinson Stadium.

Despite playing only the final nine minutes of the 1-1 draw against West Ham United last time out, Dibling produced an impressive cameo after replacing Ndiaye.

Moyes addressed questions about the youngster in his post-match press conference on Monday and revealed the supporters will have to be patient with their new signing.

“We like Tyler a lot, but he’s another one we’ll bring on in time. My first time here, I had lots of players I brought in. We took a bit of time with them, we didn’t rush them.

“We’ll just have to accept we’ll bring Tyler on when we’re ready. I thought he kept the ball well and did some good things.”
