PFF Report Card: Grades and Data from the Cleveland Browns Week 4 Loss to the Detroit Lions

The Cleveland Browns reverted back to their old ways of beating themselves in Week 4, falling to the Detroit Lions 34-10. Things looked good to start the game, as the Browns forced a punt and then scored on an 88-yard drive to take a 7-0 lead, but the offense was essentially useless for the remainder of the game, putting the defense in too many tough spots. Pro Football Focus's grades and data from the loss show a mix of positive and negative metrics for this team moving forward.

Myles Garrett Continues to Dominate

Detroit's Taylor Decker is one of the better tackles in the NFL, and Garrett worked him all game long, logging eight pressures enroute to an elite 92.0 pass-rush grade. Decker's 25.9 pass-block grade was the second-worst outing of his ten-year career, with Garrett consistently getting into the backfield and making Jared Goff uncomfortable. He didn't get home for a sack, but did land two quarterback hits and his 90.5 overall grade was even hampered by his weekly offsides penalty. His ridiculous 50% win rate paced the league and is tied for the highest single-game win rate this season with two other players who had five and six rushes, respectively. Garrett did it on 28 reps, a superhuman feat. On the season, he is now at 34.7%, first in the NFL and a full 11.6% higher than his rate last year.
