Report: Seven-time Europa League winners give green light to Everton as David Moyes eyes £17m…

Everton are already planning for the January transfer window.

David Moyes was tasked with a big rebuild in the summer as several players left upon the expiry of their contracts.

Everton shelled out in excess of £100m on nine players, with Tyler Dibling the most expensive recruit at around £40m.

Moyes couldn’t get everything done, though, so there are still areas of the squad to improve in the winter window.

With that said, the Toffees have been given the green light to sign a £17m defender.

Everton given green light to sign Juanlu Sanchez

Moyes has made signing a right-back a top priority this January, with Jake O’Brien and Nathan Patterson in need of more competition.

With that said, according to VamosMiSevilla, Everton are eyeing a move to sign Sevilla full-back Juanlu Sanchez.

Moyes looked at signing Sanchez in August, so clearly his recruitment team really admire the 22-year-old Spaniard.

It’s understood the seven-time Europa League winners are willing to sanction Sanchez’s sale this winter on the condition Everton table a bid worth £17m.

Juanlu Sanchez also open to transfer

Speaking last month, Sanchez did admit that he was ‘prepared’ to leave Sevilla in the summer, so perhaps he’d be open to a January move.

“It’s not that I saw myself leaving, but I was prepared in case anything happened, and I had to help Sevilla, because I was going to be ready,” the defender said.

“But just as I was prepared in case, I had to give my all here with the No.16, and that’s what happened. They’ve given me this wonderful opportunity to defend the ’16’, which is the most important thing for me.”

As well as a right-back, Everton have also looked at a number 10, so there could be a couple of deals on the cards this winter.
