The Atlanta Falcons will not take the field in Week 5 as they enter their bye week following a thrilling 34-27 victory over the Washington Commanders, improving to 2-2 on the season.
Atlanta has been inconsistent through the first four weeks, but there's been one bright spot: star running back Bijan Robinson.
Robinson rushed 17 times for 75 yards and a touchdown while also catching four passes for 106 yards against the Commanders. So far this season, he has 64 carries for 314 yards and two total touchdowns, along with 18 receptions for 270 yards.
Following his stellar performance in September, the NFL named Robinson the NFC Player of the Month on Thursday, joining Buffalo Bills running back James Cook, who earned the AFC honor.
The Falcons celebrated the accolade with a simple two-word post in support of Robinson: "Bijan Phenomenon."
Falcons fans also hit social media to join in with the team’s celebration to the NFL’s announcement.
“Best player in the league not named Josh Allen wow,” a fan said.
Someone else added, “The BEST in the league!”
Another person wrote, “BiJan might get 1k rushing & rec.”
“Yes sir! The big dog!” A fan reacted.
“MVP/OPOTY,” one more fan commented.
“MVP him,” declared another.
Bijan Robinson is now in his third NFL season after the Falcons selected him with the eighth overall pick in the 2023 draft out of Texas, and he has certainly lived up to the hype, becoming the team's most-used and effective offensive weapon week in and week out.
Robinson wasn't the only Falcon receiving recognition this week. Defensive back Xavier Watts was also honored by the league, earning NFC Defensive Rookie of the Month.
