Eagles make 4 practice squad moves

The Philadelphia Eagles officially announced four practice squad moves on Thursday afternoon. Here’s an overview:

* **EDGE K.J. Henry and DT Jacob Sykes were signed to the practice squad.**

* **CB Eli Ricks and EDGE** **Antwaun Powell-Ryland were released.**

Let’s sort through this new on a player-by-player basis.

Henry is returning to Philly after previously spending time on the Eagles’ practice squad last season and offseason roster earlier this year.

The Eagles waived Henry prior to start of 2025 training camp on July 22 and he was claimed off waivers by the Cleveland Browns. You may recall he had a pick-six via an awful throw from Dorian Thompson-Robinson in the preseason:

Henry was waived by the Browns in late August and he signed to their practice squad only to be cut two weeks later on September 23.

With the Eagles in need of more edge rusher help after losing Nolan Smith and Ogbo Okoronkwo to injured reserve, Henry is here to provide depth. With 435 career defensive snaps under his belt, he does bring some NFL experience to the table.

Sykes spent some time on the Eagles’ offseason roster in training camp and also had a one-day practice squad stint earlier this season. Now he’s back to provide an extra defensive tackle body in practice.

Ricks has bounced on and off the practice squad this season. He’ll probably be back again in the not too distant future.

Kinda curious the Eagles re-signed APR on Wednesday only to cut him one day later. Perhaps it was because he was actually physically available to practice yesterday whereas Henry wasn’t until today. Of the two edge rushers, it makes more sense to keep Henry around if the Eagles are thinking they might need to temporarily elevate him to play in a game. APR is more of a long-term developmental project who isn’t ready to play this season.

_Each player below is eligible to be temporarily elevated to the active roster up to three times in the regular season unless otherwise noted._

OT Luke Felix-Fualalo (international exemption)
