If the Baltimore Ravens didn’t think their season could get much worse following a disappointing 1-3 start, well guess again.

NFL Insider Josina Anderson reported on Thursday, October 2, that 2-time NFL MVP quarterback Lamar Jackson will miss at least the next 2 games with a hamstring injury — Week 5 against the Houston Texans and Week 6 against the Los Angeles Rams.

Ravens QB Lamar Jackson (hamstring) is not currently expected to play this Sunday vs theTexans, nor next week vs theRams (outside of faster healing, which still can be deceptive),” Anderson wrote on her official X account. “The bye week is after that. That’s a good safe window to help better ensure the hamstring issue doesn’t reappear later in the season when it counts more.”

Jackson injured his hamstring in the third quarter of a 37-20 loss to the Kansas City Chiefs in Week 4.

Texans Game Already Out the Window

It wasn’t a surprise Jackson was going to miss the game against the Texans, but there had still been the faint hope he would play.

“Ravens QB Lamar Jackson is likely to miss Sunday’s game vsTexans with a hamstring injury, per sources,” The Baltimore Sun’s Brian Wacker wrote on X on September 30.

On October 1, NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport said there was still some faint hope Jackson might not have to miss a start and his injury could be considered “week to week.”

The Ravens are at home for 3 consecutive games sandwiched around a bye in Week 7.

Jackson One of Most Unique Talents in NFL History

Statheads, if you can, figure out what the record is for NFL teams who have to play without their future Pro Football Hall of Fame quarterback when he’s in his prime.

We’ll take a wild guess to say it’s not very good. We know for the Ravens it isn’t, at least. Since 2018, they’re 4-10 without Jackson starting.
