Brock Purdy might be out for a little longer than Thursday night.
Purdy is considered week to week and has no timetable for his return from a toe injury that has him inactive for the San Francisco 49ers' Week 5 game against the Los Angeles Rams, NFL Network Insider Ian Rapoport reported.
Purdy aggravated his toe injury during the 49ers' Week 4 loss to the Jaguars, an MRI revealed, according to Rapoport.
Mac Jones is set to start for the third time this season in Purdy's absence on Thursday night and would likely continue starting under center if Purdy is unavailable for Week 6 -- or beyond -- against the host Tampa Bay Buccaneers.

Going into Week 5, the 49ers were 2-0 without Purdy starting this year.
Purdy, in his fourth NFL season, has completed 48 of 73 passes for 586 yards, four touchdowns and four interceptions through two games.
Purdy's bum toe is one of a litany of injuries plaguing San Francisco, which also ruled out wide receivers Ricky Pearsall and Jauan Jennings for Thursday. The 49ers are awaiting the return of Brandon Aiyuk, who is still coming back from a torn ACL last season, and standout defensive end Nick Bosa is out for the year with a torn ACL.
Thusly, the injury news isn't getting more optimistic for the 49ers.
