Crystal Palace star was 'limping' after Dynamo Kyiv win and could miss Everton clash, says…

Oliver Glasner could be without one of his key Crystal Palace players for the Premier League game against Everton on Sunday.

Crystal Palace put in a commanding performance in the Conference League on Thursday evening, kickstarting their European game with a bang.

Goals from Daniel Munoz and Eddie Nketiah saw Crystal Palace beat Dynamo Kyiv 2-0 in Poland as the Eagles extend their unbeaten run to 19 games in all competitions.

Oliver Glasner spoke positively about his side’s performance after the game. But he also revealed a potential injury scare for midfielder Will Hughes.

Up next, Crystal Palace take on Everton in the Premier League on Sunday but Hughes could yet miss out.

Will Hughes injury latest at Crystal Palace

Hughes, 30, started the game against Dynamo. But the midfielder only lasted 52 minutes before coming off, and speaking to the Crystal Palace club website after the game, Glasner revealed that Hughes sustained a dead leg in the game and that he might now be an injury doubt for the Everton game.

Glasner said: “He got a knock on his thigh, on his quad, a dead leg, and he was limping. We have a great medical department, so I hope that he will be available for Everton.”

After moving to Selhurst Park in 2021, Hughes has since racked up 134 total games for the Eagles with two goals and 10 assists to his name. He’s already made six Premier League appearances for Crystal Palace this season, with nine in all competitions.

Crystal Palace’s next five Premier League fixtures

Hughes missing the Everton game would certainly be a blow for Palace: he’s a key player, as seen by Hughes signing a new Crystal Palace contract earlier this year, extending his stay to the summer of 2027.

Thankfully, Glasner doesn’t seem to indicate it being a serious injury. But Hughes may be rested for the Everton game with some tough fixtures coming up in both the Premier League and Conference League.

Along with European games against AEK Larnaca and AZ Alkmaar, and a Carabao Cup match with Liverpool in October, Palace have some really tough Premier League games coming up too.

After this weekend we’re into the international break and so it’s a good time for Hughes to rest up, along with his teammates ahead of a busy run towards the November international break.
