On a short week, the San Francisco 49ers decided to start Mac Jones at quarterback over Brock Purdy because Purdy is still not 100 percent from his injury. Jones balled out against the Los Angeles Rams as he completed 33-of-49 passes for 342 yards and two touchdowns in a 26-23 win for the 49ers in overtime over the Rams.

With the win for San Francisco, they improve to 4-1 on the season. As for the Rams, they fall to 3-2. Jones has looked very comfortable in this offense during the games he has appeared in. Many fans think that he should be the starting quarterback over Brock Purdy moving forward. With that being said, one guy on the team thinks that should not be the case.
San Francisco 49ers Quarterback Mac Jones Believes That Brock Purdy Is the Starting Quarterback Moving Forward

Jones is going to hear noise that he should be the starting quarterback over Purdy moving forward. He was asked about if he should be the starting quarterback over him moving forward. Jones said after the game,
“Brock’s the starter of this team … I’m just trying to get some wins for him so it helps us down the line.”
It is very humble of him to say this despite the outside noise. Jones is being a good teammate for Purdy. The reason why he may have to say this is because Brock is getting the big bucks and Mac isn’t. With that being said, he almost didn’t finish the game against the Rams with a potential lower-body injury.
San Francisco will not play next until next Sunday against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. There will be questions if Jones should start again over Purdy. The 49ers should not rush Brock’s injury, and they should continue to ride with the hot hand until Mac cools off.
