Cole Palmer has named his dream five-a-side team, and alongside some of the best players in history, he picked a forgotten former Manchester United youngster.
Often, players are tasked with picking their ultimate five-a-side team when undergoing media duties.
Different players have different criteria for their teams, with many picking their teammates past and present. This is the route Danny Welbeck took when he named Paul Scholes in his best five-a-side team.
Manchester United legends are often included in the best five-a-side teams across the globe; however, Cole Palmer picked his team this week, and it included one rather surprising name, compared with the others in his team.

Cole Palmer names Ravel Morrison in dream five-a-side team
It is well known that Palmer grew up being a United fan, so when he was asked by Chelsea’s TikTok page to name his best five-a-side team, it was a safe assumption there might be some red in there.
Many might have thought there would be a mention of Palmer’s hero in football, Wayne Rooney, who he says had everything.
Instead, Palmer picked a player who made just three senior appearances for United, but came through the academy, that being Ravel Morrison.
In goal, Palmer picked Thibaut Courtois before naming his four outfielders.

“Then the four players I would have are Messi, Neymar, Ravel [Morrison], and me.”
When Palmer named Morrison, he had a smile on his face, likely knowing how high praise it was from him.
Alongside Lionel Messi, the greatest of all time, and Neymar, who had the world at his feet prior to injuries, the inclusion of Morrison is a little bit out of place.
However, Morrison had the potential to be United’s greatest academy export ever, had he not had the off-field issues that led to his career demise.
Ravel Morrison was tipped to be Manchester United’s next great academy talent
Coming through the ranks in United’s 2011 FA Youth Cup-winning side alongside Paul Pogba, Morrison was seen as being just as good, if not better than, the French midfielder.
However, Morrison’s career ended up far less successful, but his place in Palmer’s five is justified. Speaking in 2024, Pogba said Morrison was as skillful as Neymar, which would explain the inclusion.
Another fan of the former wonderkid is United’s record goalscorer, as Wayne Rooney tried to sign Morrison for Plymouth in 2024.
It is a massive shame that the world never got to witness the talent of Morrison on the grandest stage, although he only has himself to blame due to his off-field issues, which spoiled his talent.
