David Moyes has made his frustrations felt towards some of the decisions that Everton have been on the receiving end of in recent weeks.

The Toffees have had some bizarre calls go against them recently, and some of them look set to have a major impact on their fortunes in their next few games.

Moyes’ men have struggled for form a little of late, and the Scot has been quick to call out some of the moments that have gone against his side.

Everton were held to a 1-1 draw by West Ham on home turf on Monday night, but it has been a refereeing decision that has dominated the discussions in the aftermath of the game.

PGMOL blasted for ’embarrassing’ Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall errors

Moyes and Everton were left in disbelief on Monday night, when Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall was shown a yellow card for a challenge on Kyle Walker-Peters, in which he clearly won the ball.

That booking was the midfielder’s fifth caution in the opening six league games, which means that he is suspended for Sunday’s clash with Crystal Palace.

The 27-year-old also saw yellow in bizarre fashion during the Merseyside derby, when referee Darren England booked him for trying to take a quick free-kick.

Those decisions have understandably left Moyes fuming, given that Dewsbury-Hall is now suspended, and ex-FIFA referee and PGMOL chief Keith Hackett – speaking exclusively to Goodison News – believes that he has every right to feel aggrieved.

“Frankly, what Moyes and many thousands of fans witnessed was that these two yellow cards were cheap and unnecessary,” Hackett said.

“Referees who operate at the Premier League level should not be making these basic errors. It is embarrassing for the management team of the PGMOL and in particular, Howard Webb.

“Remember that the player is serving a suspension that impacts him and the team. The fact that the PGMOL have had a conversation with Moyes, I feel that the fans should be aware of that conversation between the two parties.

“The basic refereeing errors that we are witnessing should frankly be avoided, the PGMOL Referees are short of leadership and direction.”

PGMOL apology won’t mean anything to Everton

The PGMOL have already admitted their wrongdoing to Everton, but that will come as absolutely zero consolation to the Merseysiders.

The Premier League’s officiating governing body are gaining a reputation for handing apologies to teams and managers after their errors, but never rectifying any of the issues that led to them in the first place.

Moyes now faces the prospect of heading into a difficult game without one of his key players, despite their essentially being no valid reason for his suspension.

The boss is understandably livid with that outcome, and the admission from the PGMOL will be of absolutely no value to him whatsoever.
