The October international break is nearly upon us, with one game left before the Premier League pauses for two weeks for the 2026 World Cup qualifiers.

As such, each national side is now calling up its top talent in a bid to secure a slot in the tournament next year, set to be held in North America.

Already Diogo Dalot and Bruno Fernandes have been called up for Portugal as they face Ireland and Hungary, as they sit at the top of the group with six points after beating Armenia 5-0 and Hungary 3-2.

Elsewhere United loanee Marcus Rashford has also been called up to represent the England side after a successful stint with Barcelona so far. The Three Lions have a friendly against Wales planned before their qualifier with Latvia, as they currently sit at the top of the group with 15 points with runners up Albania on 8.

However, some of United’s younger stars have also been summoned for international duty.

Ireland Football have officially announced their Under-21s line-up to take on Slovakia on Friday 10th October, with young defensive midfielder Jacob Devaney being called-up for the Irish side.

However, RedYouthUnited have taken to X to add that Jack Moorhouse, who’s currently on loan from Old Trafford with Leyton Orient, could also feature and is just awaiting international clearance.
