Robert Griffin III was involved in a serious car accident

Robert Griffin III and his family were involved in a serious car crash on Friday.

Griffin revealed in a social media post that he was driving with his wife and children on the freeway in Fort Worth, Texas, when they got into “the worst car accident of our lives.” It appears that Griffin and his family were traveling in a Mercedes-Benz Sprinter van when the driver collided with another vehicle.

“Just got in the worst car accident of our lives with my wife and kids in Fort Worth, Texas. Scary crash, ricocheted off the highway divider multiple times, blown both front tires. Thankful to God that my wife and kids are safe,” Griffin wrote on X.

Griffin shared some photos that showed significant damage to the van and a Ford Mustang that looked completely totaled.

RG3 said his family was “safe.” His wife Grete reiterated that in a post on her Instagram story and also said everyone in the other vehicle was “alive and well.” Grete had previously shared a photo of Griffin inside the Mercedes van and captioned it “Love when Robert has games close by so we can travel with him.”

Griffin was hired as the No. 2 analyst for FOX college football games this season. He is scheduled to call Saturday’s game between Colorado and TCU for the network, which is why he was in Fort Worth.

Prior to being hired by FOX, RG3 worked as an analyst for ESPN for three years. The former quarterback and No. 2 overall pick also played eight seasons in the NFL between 2012 and 2020.
