Death of Jon Jones’ brother, Super Bowl champion Arthur Jones, rocks NFL, UFC communities

Arthur Jones is dead at 39.

The brother of former UFC heavyweight Jon Jones, who won a Super Bowl ring with Baltimore Ravens in 2013, retired in 2017 after seven years in the NFL.

“We are terribly saddened to learn of Arthur Jones’ sudden passing,“ NFL General Manager, Eric DeCosta, wrote on social media. ”Arthur’s presence was a gift to everyone he encountered. His big, bright smile, infectious energy and eternal positivity created a presence that continuously uplifted others. He was kind, courteous and enthusiastic - always displaying a love for family, teammates and friends. We send our deepest condolences to the Jones family and all who loved Arthur.“

A cause of death was not revealed.

In addition to Arthur, younger brother Chandler also played in the NFL for 10 seasons, winning his own Super Bowl ring with the New England Patriots.

“Bones” has yet to issue a statement on the unfortunate passing of his brother.
