Eagles linebacker not yet ready to return; Adoree’ Jackson weighs in on likely loss of his…

Nakobe Dean is the only player listed as out for the Eagles ahead of their game Sunday against the Denver Broncos.

Dean, of course, has missed every game this season because of the severe knee injury he sustained in the first round of the playoffs last season against the Green Bay Packers. He opened the season on the PUP list, but was activated Wednesday, starting a 21-day window for his return to the active roster.

The good news for Dean was that he did fully participate in practice for the first time Friday after being limited earlier in the week.

The Eagles had good news on the injury front otherwise. Rookie linebacker Jihaad Campbell was the only player not at practice. He was excused for personal reasons.

Starting tight end Dallas Goedert (knee) was a full participant in practice after sitting out Wednesday and being limited Thursday. Backup tight end Grant Calcaterra was back on the practice field after sitting out Thursday with an illness.

Right tackle Lane Johnson, despite leaving the last two games with an apparent nerve injury that is affecting his shoulder, was a full participant in practice both Thursday and Friday and will play against the Broncos.

Veteran cornerback Adoree’ Jackson (groin) is also expected to return this week after missing the Week 4 game at Tampa Bay. Jackson has likely lost his starting job to Kelee Ringo because of the injury.

“Kelee did a great job (against Tampa Bay),” Jackson said. “He played well, he tackled well and he brought a lot of great energy.”

Jackson was asked about losing his job because of an injury.

“I don’t even think too much about that,” he said. “If I’m not playing, I want whoever is playing to perform and do well. That’s how life goes, so you just go back and you keep working.”
