ICE says agents will be ‘active and on-site’ for Bad Bunny’s Super Bowl show

According to Trump adviser Corey Lewandowski, the fired Trump campaign manager now working with Department of Homeland Security Secretary Kristi Noem, Immigration and Customs Enforcement agents are expected to attend Bad Bunny’s halftime Super Bowl performance to be on the lookout for undocumented immigrants.

In a statement to TMZ, ICE confirmed the move. “There is no safe haven for violent criminal illegal aliens in the United States,” according to an agency spokesperson.

Lewandowski made his statements on “The Benny Show," a podcast hosted by conservative commentator Benny Johnson, on Wednesday.

“There is nowhere that you can provide safe haven to people in this country illegally. Not the Super Bowl and nowhere else,” Lewandowski insisted after being asked by Johnson whether ICE would “have enforcement” at next year’s Super Bowl.

Bad Bunny’s performance at Super Bowl LX, set for Feb. 8 at Levi’s Stadium in Santa Clara, Cal., was confirmed by the NFL on Sunday.

Bad Bunny was third on the list of Spotify’s most-streamed artists in 2024. He was born Benito Antonio Martínez Ocasio in Puerto Rico, a U.S. territory, and thus a U.S. citizen.

Referring to potential ICE targets at the show, Lewandowski said, “We will find you. We will apprehend you. We will put you in a detention facility, and we will deport you. That is a very real situation under this administration, which is completely different from how it used to be.”

Lewandowski also said the NFL’s decision to pick 31-year-old reggaeton superstar was “shameful.” He questioned why the NFL would pick an artist “who seems to hate America so much to represent them at the halftime show.”

Lewandowski was likely citing Bad Bunny’s decision to skip the U.S. on his Debí Tirar Más Fotos World Tour because of concerns that “f--king ICE” could be outside his concert venues.
