Baltimore Ravens release statement after tragic passing of Arthur Jones

The NFL world received sad news on Friday when it was announced that former Baltimore Ravens star Arthur Jones had passed away at the age of 39.

Shortly after the news was announced, fans and former players paid their respects to Jones on social media. Jones spent four seasons in Baltimore, and the franchise released a statement on his tragic passing.

“Arthur’s presence was a gift to everyone he encountered. His big, bright smile, infectious energy, and eternal positivity created presence that continuously uplifted others,” wrote Ravens general manager Eric DeCosta in the official statement by the organization.

“We send our deepest condolences to the Jones family and all who loved Arthur.”

Jones also spent time with the Indianapolis Colts and Washington Commanders during his seven years in the NFL.

However, Jones’ time with the Ravens is his most memorable as he helped lead the team to a Super Bowl victory back in 2012.

Jones was a fifth-round pick for the Ravens in the 2010 NFL Draft. He finished his tenure with the Ravens with 8.5 sacks and one forced fumble. In 2013, Jones started the most games in one season of his career with 13 in Baltimore.
