Everton hit back with clear message to Thomas Tuchel after England's Jack Grealish rejection

Everton forward Jack Grealish was handed the frustrating news on Friday of his latest England snub by Thomas Tuchel.

Despite making an electric start to the 2025/26 campaign, Grealish finds himself on a list of big names to miss the cut for the games against Wales and Latvia.

David Moyes urged Tuchel to also select James Garner, but there was only one Everton player to make the squad.

Jordan Pickford retained his usual spot as the England number one as he continues to wave the flag for the Toffees.

He may not have selected him, but Tuchel praised Grealish’s Everton form during his press conference from Wembley Stadium on Friday.

The news will come as a real blow for the 30-year-old who is looking to play in next year’s World Cup for the Three Lions.

He will now remain on Merseyside and it was clear what Everton thought of the decision as the club took to social media.

The Blues have provided Grealish the platform to return to his best form, yet he is still being overlooked.

After the England squad was announced on Friday morning, Everton sent a clear message on social media with their disapproval sensed.

Earlier in the week, Everton posted a statistic showing Grealish to have created the most chances (17) of any Premier League player.

Having discovered Grealish’s snub from the squad, Everton decided to repost the graphic in a clear message to Tuchel.

Fans of other Premier League clubs hailed Grealish on Monday evening for his display against West Ham United.

However, he still has not done enough to convince Tuchel, who picked a number of players currently struggling for form.

Grealish’s World Cup hopes are slipping away

England’s final World Cup Qualifiers will be played in November, which will give Grealish another opportunity to impress Tuchel.

Speaking on Friday from Wembley, Sky Sports reporter Rob Dorsett admitted he feels this latest snub is a major blow to Grealish’s chances of returning to the England squad for the World Cup.

“Neither is Jack Grealish [called up] despite his good form for Everton and that surprises a few people as well,” he said.

“If he’s not going to get in the squad with the way he’s playing right now it looks a long road for him to get into the World Cup squad.”

Grealish’s father has urged him to shoot more, with the 30-year-old looking for his first goal in an Everton shirt.

One other issue Grealish now faced ahead of the next call-up is that he will miss one of the games as it comes against his parent club, Manchester City.
