Exclusive: Everton require 'massive' offer to land striker who's set to move in January

Everton already look like a club who need to dip into the January transfer window for a new striker.

A lot of positive work was done over the summer by The Friedkin Group to bring in some quality players to bolster the squad.

With nine new additions signed, not every need was ticked off the wish list in what was the new owner’s first summer window in Merseyside.

David Moyes admitted not every transfer need could be addressed in just one window, which provides optimism for more signings in the winter market.

Everton have enjoyed a solid start to the 2025/26 campaign, but there is clear room for improvement in the striker department.

Club hero Duncan Ferguson was disappointed with Everton’s strikers during the week in the draw against West Ham United.

With focus from the recruitment team on January, Everton News’ transfer correspondent Graeme Bailey has shared insight on one potential striker target,

Everton would need a huge deal to land Arsenal’s Gabriel Jesus

In recent days, it has been suggested that Everton hold an interest in Arsenal striker Gabriel Jesus.

The Brazilian is in search of regular minutes if he is to secure a spot in Carlo Ancelotti’s national squad for the World Cup.

Speaking to Everton News, Bailey has claimed it would take a huge offer from Everton to prise the striker to the Hill Dickinson Stadium.

“Gabriel Jesus is likely to leave Arsenal in 2026, and quite possibly January,” he said.

“But his deal is huge, it would take something massive to put a deal together.”

It has even been claimed that Everton have made an enquiry for Jesus, with the early indications showing Everton do not have enough quality up front.

Everton are expected to consider a new striker signing when the January transfer window opens, but the Toffees do have other needs on their list.

Gabriel Jesus would pose a big risk for Everton

There is no doubt that Jesus has previously shown the quality that could improve Everton’s current striker options.

Moyes has not been impressed with Beto, who has only been able to score one goal this season for the Toffees.

However, there would be no guarantee that Jesus would offer much more if Everton were to sign him.

Jesus’ former manager Pep Guardiola has raved about the striker in the past and even hailed him as one of his best signings.

“He runs for everyone and when he scores, I am the happiest man,” said the Manchester City boss back in 2021.

“Gabriel goes down, gets up and tries again. He’s a young player and one of the best signings we have done in this period together.”

His quality is undoubted, but Jesus’ injury record leaves a lot to be desired.

The greatest trait is availability, and Jesus has not shown that in recent years since making the move to Arsenal.
