The New York Jets stand to benefit from a cavalcade of Dallas Cowboys injuries ahead of Week 5.

Jon Machota of The Athletic revealed the offensive starters that have been ruled out for this weekend.

Three of the Cowboys‘ five starters on the offensive line aren’t going to play: left tackle Tyler Guyton, right guard Tyler Booker, and center Cooper Beebe. There is a chance they miss a fourth with their left guard, Tyler Smith “questionable.”

Two of Dallas’ top three wide receivers won’t be available: CeeDee Lamb and KaVontae Turpin.

Jets Have No Excuses Not to Get After Dallas QB

Dallas has at least 60% of its starting offensive line out, and the number could be as high as 80%. It’s now or never time for this Jets pass rush to make some noise.

In Week 1, the defense collected four sacks. Over the last three games, they have only registered two total sacks. That six sack total through the first month of the season ranks 29th in the NFL, per ESPN.

Dak Prescott is one of the least sacked quarterbacks in the NFL this season. He has only been sacked six times through four games. For context, Tyrod Taylor, the Jets‘ backup quarterback, has been sacked the same number of times.

Taylor has appeared in 87 offensive snaps this season, and Prescott has appeared in 283, per Pro Football Reference.

Prescott has typically had excellent protection, but this week he will be vulnerable. The Jets have to take advantage of that, whether with their straight-up talent or some timely blitz calls from defensive coordinator Steve Wilks.

Jets Get Much Better News on Their Injury Report

Only one player has been ruled out so far for the Jets: starting slot corner Michael Carter II.

However, that might be an addition by subtraction situation considering how poorly Carter has played.

The replacement for Carter is likely going to be Jarvis Brownlee Jr. Gang Green traded for the talented corner in a deal with the Tennessee Titans.

He missed the Week 4 contest due to an ankle issue. Ahead of the Cowboys game, Brownlee was a full participant throughout this entire week. He did not receive an injury designation for the game.

However, two players will “come down to the wire,” according to head coach Aaron Glenn. Neither pass rusher Jermaine Johnson (ankle) nor return man Kene Nwangwu (hamstring) practiced all week.

Both players would be needle-moving players for the Jets if they were to play. Nwangwu is a dynamic return man and a former All-Pro. Gang Green has struggled in the return game this season with multiple fumbles.

Johnson would give a massive boost to the Jets‘ defensive end situation. They lack depth and star power, which has come under the spotlight this season.

Jets HC Aaron Glenn Trying to Avoid History

The Jets are 0-4. Three head coaches in team history have started their careers with that record: Aaron Glenn (2025), Adam Gase (2019), and Lou Holtz (1976).

However, no head coach in Jets history has ever started 0-5. That could happen on Sunday if the Jets lose to Dallas.
