England manager Thomas Tuchel has caused a stir with his latest England squad, leaving out Everton star Jack Grealish.
Grealish was not able to earn a recall despite his Everton form, with the likes of Phil Foden and Jude Bellingham also being excluded.
Everton boss David Moyes has defended Tuchel, however, the decision to not include Grealish, after he notched four assists in his first three Toffees games was controversial.
Some observers can see why the Everton star was not named in the team, while others cannot fathom the call.

Jamie O’Hara names Frank Lampard as potential England successor
Frank Lampard managed Everton at one of their lowest points, helping the Blues to survive relegation in the 2021-22 season.

He has since forged a great reputation in the Championship with Coventry, and that stint in the Midlands has seen Jamie O’Hara suggest him for the Three Lions role, as a potential successor for Tuchel.
Speaking on Sky Sports on 2 October, he said: “I think Frank Lampard, for me, is definitely one to look at in the future to take over as England manager after Thomas Tuchel.
“Why not, he is an England great, and he is showing managerially that he can it at the highest level.”

The “highest level” comment may be a bit of an overexaggeration, but O’Hara’s comments make sense.
Everton fans would love Lampard to be England manager
Lampard formed a bond with Blues fans when he was in the dugout, he understood the size of the club and what it meant to avoid relegation.
On the night that his side secured survival, with a famous 3-2 comeback win over Crystal Palace, his face was the same as every Evertonian, a mixture of relief and ecstasy.
Lampard was appointed at Goodison Park in January 2022
He managed 44 games, with 12 wins in his time in the dugout
He was sacked in January 2023 after nine losses in 12 matches
Toffees fans wish Lampard well in his future endeavours, even if things did get sour towards the end, due to his slow-paced football and their poor position in the Premier League table.
It may also mean that more Blues players get a chance in the national team, something which does not seem likely under Tuchel’s leadership.
Tuchel has hardly endeared himself to supporters on the blue half of Merseyside, and they would probably agree with O’Hara’s suggestion about the former Chelsea midfielder taking over the reins.
