While the Vikings had six players ruled out and three questionable, Cleveland’s injury report was much smaller with only one player ruled out (DT Mike Hall Jr.) and two starters questionable (OL Jack Conklin and CB Greg Newsome II). HC Kevin Stefanski was vague about both players’ availability as well as when Newsome’s injury occurred, as he was first listed on the injury report for the team’s Thursday walk-through.
Conklin was a full participant in practice on Friday, while Newsome was limited. Despite a hamstring injury, Newsome was out on the field with some local youth after practice on Friday:
In what could be an indicator that Newsome will not be able to play on Sunday, the Browns elevated two practice squad cornerbacks on Saturday: Tre Avery and Dom Jones.
We will have official inactive reports 90 minutes before Sunday’s matchup (about 8 AM Ohio time) when we will learn whether Conklin, Newsome and the three Vikings players will be available for the game or not.
