As relayed in the [OBR Daily Newswire](https://247sports.com/nfl/cleveland-browns/article/cleveland-browns-news-rumors-dillon-gabriel-255332398/) earlier this morning, the Cleveland Browns transaction wire shows that the team has elevated two cornerbacks, Tre Avery and Dom Jones, from the practice squad for tomorrow's 9:30AM contest against the Minnesota Vikings in London.
Both were also elevated last week.
The move created some aggregator headlines because Greg Newsome is listed as questionable on the team's Friday injury report. It's impossible, however, to draw a line from one to the other, because the same players were brought onto the team last weekend, when Newsome played. Of the two, Dom Jones is more likely to see action as a defensive back. Avery mainly played on special teams.
While it's possible that the elevations are due to concerns about Newsome, it's impossible to infer that from the transaction.

Browns CB Dom Jones
Avery is in his fourth season out of Rutgers and signed with the team earlier this year. He has previously played with the Titans and 49ers. He made two tackles against the Lions and was part of the punt return team that arguably overpursued the returner, allowing a touchdown by Detroit.
Dom Jones is a rookie who was signed to the Browns as an undrafted free agent. He has appeared in limited action, playing ten snaps apiece on defense and special teams.
