The cause of death has been revealed for former Super Bowl champion Arthur Jones.
Jones died from a heart-related issue, according to Steve Infanti of NewsChannel 9 in Syracuse. Jones had a pre-existing heart condition, and had been implanted with a pacemaker. His pacemaker had been triggered on Friday morning, and by the time emergency personnel reached his home, Jones had already died.
> An Onondaga County Sheriff's spokesperson tells us that Arthur Jones' pacemaker went off this morning, automatically sending a message to his doctor. EMS responded to Jones' home just before 11 a.m., but he had already passed away. Jones had a pre-existing heart condition.

Jones was the older brother of MMA champion Jon Jones and fellow NFL star Chandler Jones. He won a Super Bowl with the Baltimore Ravens in 2012, and had only retired from playing in the league after the 2017 season.
During his seven-year NFL career, Jones played in a total of 64 games and collected ten sacks. That does not include the sack he notched during the Ravens’ win over the San Francisco 49ers in Super Bowl XLVII.
While his two younger brothers have yet to issue any public reaction to his death, Jones [has received numerous tributes](https://larrybrownsports.com/football/arthur-jones-tributes-death/720390) from around the sports world.
