'Go online and find out': Italian politician loves what he san seen TFG do at Everton

Everton have seen some significant changes made to all aspects of the club since the Friedkins took over last year.

Big changes were needed at Everton, with the Toffees heading in one direction under the ownership of Farhad Moshiri.

The Friedkin Group have landed on Merseyside and steadied the ship with considerable investment put into the club already.

Everton’s PSR worries have been squashed by the Friedkins following their takeover almost one year ago now.

Nine new signings were made over the summer which left David Moyes delighted with Everton’s transfer business.

And it seems what the Friedkins are doing at Everton has also caught the eye of one politician in Italy.

The Friedkins praised for Everton decision by Italian politician

Everton’s new stadium has changed the financial landscape for the Toffees, with huge new revenue streams coming into the club now.

However, it is what Everton have done with Goodison Park that has really impressed one politician in Italy.

Instead of demolishing the Old Lady, Everton had assigned Goodison Park to the Women’s team, which will add another source of revenue to the club.

Speaking to the media, the President of the Senate of Italy, Ignazio La Russa, name dropped Everton in his speech on the future of the San Siro.

“All over the world, there are stadiums that are as close as 50 metres from each other,” he said.

“Everton didn’t demolish their stadium but instead designated it for women’s football and built a new one. In Argentina, they’re 50 metres apart, in England. There are photos; go online and find out how many stadiums are next to each other.

“The new stadium has now been authorised, and that was also my ambition and desire. It’s right that Inter and Milan have a modern stadium. My opposition lies in the need to demolish San Siro.”

Simon Jordan has praised the Friedkins at Everton, but it is clear their work is also being admired by those across Europe.

Everton could have a bright future under the Friedkins

Just this week, a fresh £45m has been invested into Everton, with the Friedkins snapping up an even bigger chunk of the club.

The new owners showed their intentions over the summer with some considerable signings made to back Moyes.

It will be interesting to see whether that continues into the upcoming transfer windows, but there is no indication that it will not.

Moyes admitted Everton still need to make more signings. However, the Scot will be keen to avoid another window as busy as the summer was.

With the Toffees settling in to their new stadium, it is becoming clear they have a set of owners who would be the envy of clubs across Europe.
