Senne Lammens was named in the Manchester United starting line-up for the first time as Ruben Amorim’s side recorded a convincing win over Sunderland.
Manchester United’s 2-1 win over Sunderland helped ease some of the pressure facing Ruben Amorim.
The United head coach made some changes to his team that suffered defeat against Brentford last weekend, and he was rewarded for doing so as the Red Devils secured three points.
Amorim dropped Altay Bayindir, who had started every Premier League game this season, and Casemiro returned to the midfield.
Amad Diallo was another returning player who starred against Sunderland, but he was joined by goalscorer Mason Mount.
United fans will hope the team can take momentum from their win over Sunderland and that it can prove a turning point after a slow start to the 2025/26 campaign.

Every save and collection was met with cheers from the Old Trafford faithful, who have been subjected to questionable goalkeeping for the past two years.
Lammens only had one difficult shot to deal with on the brink of half-time to prevent former Arsenal midfielder Granit Xhaka from getting on the scoresheet.
However, Lammens earned further plaudits in the 79th minute when he sent the ball long.
MUTV commentator Liam Bradford was amazing by the distance Lammens got on his kick, saying: “Tell you what he’s got a hefty kick on him. That’s ended up halfway in the Sunderland half.
“An absolute cannon attached to his right leg.”
Bradford continued: “That is definitely a weapon for Manchester United, the long ball from Senne Lammens.”
Senne Lammens stats from Man Utd’s win over Sunderland
It was a comfortable evening for Lammens, despite making his debut in the Premier League.
The newly signed United stopper had only three saves to make, as well as two high claims.
Lammens was called into action as a sweeper on one occasion and made 52 touches on the ball.
Amorim will be very happy with Lammens’ first appearance for United.
