Ruben Amorim praised his Manchester United players after getting back to winning ways with a convincing win over Sunderland on Saturday.
There was relief at Old Trafford when Manchester United recorded a 2-0 win over Sunderland.
It was United’s third Premier League win of the season, secured by goals from Mason Mount and Benjamin Sesko, to give Amorim some relief after a long week of speculation over his future.
The result means the Red Devils have now won three games in a row at Old Trafford. That was accomplished with the team’s first clean sheet of the season following Senne Lammens’ impressive debut.
Now, several members of United’s first team will go on international duty before returning to face Liverpool in the next Premier League outing.
Amorim is hopeful United can build on their win over Sunderland to gain momentum and climb up the league table.

Ruben Amorim believes he has backing from Man Utd players
It has been a difficult 11 months for Amorim at Old Trafford.
United’s recent form suggests their form at home is improving, but Amorim has demanded the same away from home. That will be put to the test when the Red Devils travel to Anfield after the international break.

In Amorim’s post-match interview, the United head coach acknowledged that he saw enough focus and fight from his team to tell him they don’t want a new manager.
Amorim also noted how United’s performance dipped in the second half, despite remaining focused enough to secure the win.
“I saw it today and I know they want to do their best and I know they don’t want to change the coach all the time,” Amorim said, as quoted by the Manchester Evening News.
“But, like I said during this week, to be with the manager is ‘I will kill myself to go in every transition’.”We need to show it with actions and sometimes, when we look at our team, I know for sure that when we see the games in the end they know that sometimes we can do better.
“So I feel that during the week, but we need to show that on the pitch, not just at home but also away.
“There is no momentum with our team. We know what happens when we win one game, the frustration is not to see the same team at home and away.
“We didn’t play well in the second-half but we focused, we fought hard for the second balls and these small things are going to help us win games.”
Amorim is testing his players to back up their performance against Sunderland after the international break.
