Matthew Stafford is moving on well with his performance in the NFL season. 1503 yards, 11 touchdowns and two interceptions aren’t a bad thing to look at. Off the field, he is addressing concerns in the form of his wife.
Some issues centers on his wife, Kelly Stafford, who revealed she’s pausing her podcast, The Morning After, to prioritize her mental health and family. The 36-year-old said the decision was sudden, “My husband doesn’t even know about this…” and admitted managing the show on top of raising four daughters has become overwhelming.
She told listeners, “I will be taking a break for about a month,” adding, “It has been taking more time than I wanted it to. I love this podcast, but I love my husband and daughters more. For right now, I need to step back.”

Kelly said she started the podcast to build a community that “accepts failure and supports each other,” but recently has been “struggling with where I see this thing going.” Her pause comes amid changes to the podcast, including the return of co-host Hank Winchester after misconduct allegations and the pressures of midseason life. While she didn’t directly link her break to any single incident, she made clear she needs time to “step back and kind of figure out what the plan is.”
Fans quickly responded with support, praising her honesty and applauding her choice to prioritize well-being. Kelly emphasized this isn’t a permanent goodbye: “I’m not saying this is over. I really need a second.”
For now, her month-long break is a reset intended to protect her mental health and her family’s stability while the Rams continue through the season. Listeners flooded social media with encouragement, praising her transparency and reminding others that stepping back for mental health is brave and necessary.
