Hello and welcome to coverage from the Premier League as Aston Villa host Burnley, Everton face Crystal Palace and Wolves welcome Brighton to Molineux.

Crystal Palace travel to Everton riding high on a club-record 19-match unbeaten streak but manager Oliver Glasner said protecting that sequence is not a priority.

Palace’s first-ever European match ended with a 2-0 win against Dynamo Kyiv in the Conference League on Thursday and they have not lost a match in any competition since April 16.

“All the credit to the players, because they have to perform on the pitch and they have to work so hard that we can get these results,” Glasner, who led Palace to FA Cup glory last season, said. “But honestly, we don’t talk about the run in our meetings, or on the pitch.

“The approach is the same. We don’t go to Everton saying ‘let’s just extend the run’, we go there and will try to win. Every win, every good performance, increases the self-confidence, and this is what we can see.”

Unai Emery admits Aston Villa needed their recent winning run to build confidence after a tough start to the season.

Villa secured a third straight victory in all competitions on Thursday, with Europa League successes against Bologna and Feyenoord sandwiching a first Premier League win over Fulham, and will look to make it four on the bounce when they welcome Burnley to Villa Park.

Emery said: “It was very important (the win against Feyenoord). Firstly because we are getting confidence and feeling stronger collectively and individually in everything we are working on, and the results help it.

“We want to be consistent overall in all the competitions we are facing. The Europa League is something we are excited and motivated by, and we won the first two matches. Through it we can feel confidence and we can feel comfortable in this way in this competition. In Premier League matches we’re under our expectations and demands to try to be consistent and get more points.”

Wolves boss Vitor Pereira believes his side are now in a position to “compete” following a tough start to their Premier League season.

Pereira’s side lost their opening five games in what was a terrible start to the campaign, but have started to see green shoots in recent weeks after a Carabao Cup win over Everton was followed up by a draw away at Tottenham.

Wolves remain rooted to the bottom of the table and four points adrift of safety but Pereira is happy with what he’s seen in recent weeks.

He said: “In the last two games, the team has given me good feeling because we are playing better, better football, we are more consistent, and we show courage and personality to play. We won against Everton and we lost two points in the last minute against Tottenham, but we showed that we are now in a moment where we can compete.

“I was frustrated at the end of the game but happy and proud of the team and the supporters, and this is important because they were fantastic in London and they deserved the three points. We deserved the three points because of a special second half.”
